F.A.Q.

Is there a minimum orderWorldwide Impressions has no minimum order size.

What files are acceptable for artwork? Ideally vector art is best: EPS, PDF, AI (Adobe Illustrator), CDR (Corel Draw) or Freehand files.  If vector art is not available, then a high resolution image (JPG, or GIF) would be desirable.  If neither is available please let us know what you do have and contact our art department as they will be able to assist in creating a file that is suitable for screen printing, embroidery, laser appliqué, or laser etching.

What is digitizing? Digitizing is the process of converting a picture to stitches.  This is necessary for embroidery and appliqué orders.  Digitizing is a one time process for new artwork and does not apply to digitized stock fonts already on file.

How do I get artwork to Worldwide Impressions? Artwork can be emailed to Worldwide Impressions. Click here to email.

For appliqué orders will Worldwide provide the fabric or do I? Worldwide provides primary colors of Tackle Twill, cotton twill, and T shirt fabric.  Any other custom fabric should be supplied by the customer.

Is there any sort of price break if I supply my own fabric? No, we still have to cut the fabric to size for each shirt and this takes time.

Can Worldwide handle rush orders?  Worldwide can handle rush orders, just contact us with your order information and requested turn around time and we will let you know if there are any problems.

What is Laser Appliqué? Laser Appliqué is the process of using a laser to cut the material while it is lying on top of the garment.  This allows for much more detail and versatility than was previously possible.  From detailed tackle twill designs, to worn distressed looks, the laser can do it all and repeat it perfectly on every garment.  Reverse Appliqué is a look completely unique to Laser Appliqué.  This technique puts the appliqué under the garment and then the laser cuts the garment itself to reveal the fabric underneath.

What is the difference between regular old fashioned appliqué and new Laser Appliqué?  In the past appliqué was limited to large block, athletic numbers and letters.  Each piece had to be placed by hand and sewn one at a time.  Utilizing the newest laser technology we are now able to appliqué logos that were not able to be appliquéd before and with greater detail than ever before.

What is Laser Etching?  Laser Etching is the process of using a laser to vaporize or remove the top layer of a material.  In the case of denim it’s removing just the very top of the dye revealing the natural threads underneath.  For polyester fleece the laser removes the top layer of fuzz, creating a great tonal contrast and highly visible look.

What garments does laser etching work on best? Laser Etching works best on synthetics such as polyester fleece, and micro fleece, and thicker cottons such as denim and canvas.

How do these decorations wash?  Garments using tackle twill and other finished appliqués wash fine.  Since the laser actually cauterizes the edges of the tackle twill there is no worry about fraying or coming apart.  Distressed appliqués will continue to get better with each wash, increasing the worn and vintage feel and look.

What are some typical costs? Costs of Laser Appliqué are very similar to regular embroidery.  In some cases appliqué can even be much more cost effective.  But the key is to offer something that no one else can, nor anyone has seen before.  Why not stand out with something different other than the same screen printing and embroidery that everyone has seen before.
